SUMMARY:

Sophelle is seeking an experienced and highly motivated retail IT Project Manager with extensive project management and leadership experience with cross-channel, multi-platform environments and systems and demonstrated leadership and management skills to lead projects within our practice. This is an ideal opportunity for an established independent consultant who wants to focus on the technology side of their business.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Sr. Project Manager, working in collaboration with Sophelle’s President and senior executives, will:
  • Manage cross functional projects and teams by setting strategy, design and plan goals based on thorough understanding of Project Management techniques and company priorities to drive results through effective facilitations and clear direction resulting in timely and effective solutions.
  • Provide direct hands on management of projects by providing project leadership while maintaining project controls.
  • Manage the creation and timely ongoing updates of project plans and supporting control tools (resource plan, budgets, milestones / deliverables).
  • Partner with client management and other IT associates to drive the project process, estimates, and progress.
  • Clearly identify, communicate and proactively manage project critical path, and escalate appropriately.
  • Work with management to identify appropriate project skill requirements & resources and assist with their integration into the team.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

  • 8 to 10 years of Project Management experience
  • Preference given to candidates that are PMI Certified
  • Must possess some hands on retail systems experience
  • Effective communication (oral and written) with internal and external customers and development groups
  • Managed projects with established software development lifecycles
  • Identification of risks and processes for managing risk impacts to projects
  • Development of project plans
  • Development of budgets and detailed schedules that align with project objectives
  • Specific utilization of Microsoft Office tools (e.g., Project, Excel) in executing project management processes
  • Experience documenting processes and procedures
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills as associated with managing software projects
  • Continual forecasting of cost and schedule to complete projects with comparison to project baselines
  • Leading and running project meetings and follow up actions
  • Managing project dependencies and coordinating activities across cross functional teams / groups

DESIRED EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

  • PMI Certification
  • Experience/exposure to a variety of methodologies (i.e., RUP, SCRUM Waterfall. Agile, etc.)
  • Desired retail systems experience includes: order management, warehouse management, supply chain, MLM/PDM, store systems, data warehousing/business intelligence, merchandising and planning systems
