SUMMARY:
The Director of PMO will be responsible for establishing and leading the company’s Program Management Office. The Program Management team provides leadership to drive and track product development programs in a complex multi-product, multi-release environment. Tangible results will be measured through improved cross-functional team planning, coordination, and the implementation of processes, and tools to deliver world class products efficiently, with rapid time-to-market and with minimal surprises.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Drive tactical direction for all projects and business launches with department managers and key stakeholders.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (PM, design, engineering, marketing, content, research) to provide services including planning, scheduling, cost-estimating and risk assessment to the portfolio of projects aimed at creating new products and/or enhancing existing products.
- Help build and lead a team of program managers.
- Provide summarized status for major projects to the executive team.
- Participate in discussions regarding evaluation of potential projects
- Gains understanding of the organization’s strategic goals to support project selection.
- Assess key business drivers and impact on department performance (i.e., ability to meet service levels).
- Establish and develop tools to ensure consistent approach to planning and tracking across various projects across multiple geographic boundaries
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 7+ years experience managing website and business launches
- Ecommerce experience a plus
- Proven track record of managing multiple projects
- Strong interpersonal communication skills and problem-solving skills
- Track record managing a team of at least 4 project managers
- Excellent presentation and meeting leader skills
- Strong negotiation, organizational, and facilitation skills
- Self-starter / self-motivated, capable of staying on track and pursuing solutions without supervision
- Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines and handle multiple projects simultaneously
- Willing to work extended hours to meet deadlines when required
- Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills required
- Must be detail oriented
- Must be able to work independently and build strong relationships with functional team partners
